Alcides Dagis

Alcides Dagis, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, at the age of 95. He was born on June 5, 1930, in Barranquilla, Colombia, to Maximo Dagis and Maria Velasquez. After serving in the Colombian Military, Alcides moved to New York City, where he met the love of his life. He married Maria Gordils in 1965, and together they shared 52 beautiful years of marriage.

Alcides was known and loved by many for his unwavering love for Christ, his charisma, and lively spirit. He enjoyed spreading the gospel, traveling to visit his family in Colombia, and spending time with his loved ones.

He is survived by his daughter, Diana Dagis; his sisters, Editha and Maria; his grandchildren, Stedman, Imani, Manoah, Jairo, and Adelaida; and several great-grandchildren.

A viewing will take place at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 6075 Middle Ridge Rd, Lorain OH 44053, on April 9th at 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Templo Emmanuel, 4230 Clinton Ave, Lorain OH 44055, on April 10th at 10:00 AM.
