Anthony D. Morrow Sr. (Tank) of North Ridgeville, a devoted man of faith, loving husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin and grandfather, entered eternal rest on July 1, 2026, surrounded by his wife and mother (Marsha) who spent countless nights with him at the Avon Cleveland Clinic.
Born on May 14, 1966, in Akron, Ohio, Anthony lived a life rooted in his love for God and his family. He firmly believed in the divine order of life—placing God first—and remained steadfast in that commitment throughout his life. The Morrow family are members of The Living Word Church under the leadership of Pastor Ray H. Robinson Jr. and guidance of The Elect Lady Holly Robinson.
In 2005 Anthony (Tank) and Sonja (Nee’See) were wed. Proverbs 18:22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord. In 2012 God blessed them with a beautiful baby girl, Ta’Mar Morrow. They vowed to raise her according to the words of God. Psalm 127:3: View children as a heritage and a reward from the Lord. Ephesians 6:4: Bring them up in the training and instructions of the Lord.
Anthony (Tank) graduated from Garfield High School and was employed as an Operator for the City of North Ridgeville Waste Water Treatment Plant, he was a shift manager at McDonalds and also worked and traveled with the Rue Boys of Cleveland, Ohio as the Live Sound Stage Manager.
In his spare time, Anthony (Tank) brought his competitive spirit to bowling and shooting pool.
He was known by family and friends as a bowling champion. Anthony also enjoyed hanging out with Paul Sliman, the owner of Sliman Dodge, Jeep Dealership in Amherst and riding to Akron with Steve Bush to pick up Rasicci’s fried chicken. He was a huge Pittsburgh Steeler, Ohio State, and Cavs fan. During the sports season he would make regular conference calls and watched the game with his brother Roger, cousin Cory, and sometimes Deacon Mark. He also was named the christian league youth head boys basketball coach at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Akron, where Curtis A. Minter is the Pastor. Shiloh was the place he called home and where he gave his life to Christ after much prayer & conversation with Pastor Minter.
Additionally, he loved cruising on Carnival & Royal Caribbean taking over 30 cruises, he would jetski and go so far out into the Atlantic Ocean until one couldn’t see him. His energy was unmatched and he would light up any room he walked into. Tank really enjoyed pulling pranks on family & friends, he would crack up laughing every time someone would fall for his prank. To verify his prank, all you have to do is ask Bosco & Cory.
Roughly in 2014 Anthony (Tank) formed a group called Team Tank where his vision was to fundraise and secure financial resources to support and bridge the gap between the operating budget and the money required to achieve specific Sound and Technology equipment. He would BBQ ribs, chicken and smoke turkeys and the team would get the orders ready. Team Tank raised approximately $10,000 for the New Bethel PBC in Lorain, where Tyrone Holley is the Pastor. Habakkuk 2:2 -KJ—And the Lord answered me and said: Write the vision and make it plain upon tablets, that he may run that readeth it. Tank ran with his vision and completed the mission.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Sonja (Nee’See ) whom he shared 20 years of marriage; his mother Marsha Andrus of Akron, Ohio, as well as a legacy of love through his cherished children: Ta’Mar Morrow, Taneal (Dave) Hughes, and Anthony Morrow Jr. He was the proud brother to Roger Morrow, Marlene Morrow, Clenzo Morrow Jr., Kristopher Morrow, Parthenia (Bink) Morrow, Matthew Logan, and Amasa Logan. He also leaves to cherish his memory, 8 grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins along with extended family, Diane Blanton, Alyce Jackson-Bostick, Minister Ray Green, and Valerie Bailey.
Anthony (Tank) was preceded in death by his father, Clenzo Morrow Sr.; brother, Roy Cooley; his maternal grandparents, Rev. Sarah and Deacon Ellis Wilson; and his paternal grandmother, Margaret Tagert-Morrow.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24th, 2026, from 11am until time of service at 12pm at Brown-Robinson Celebration Center, 6075 Middle Ridge Road, Lorain OH 44053.
