Chester Crook, born June 20, 1951, to Charlie and Willie Frances (Halliburton) Crook, in Ripley, Tennessee, passed away December 13, 2025, at Compassus Hospice in Lorain.
Chester was raised in Ripley before moving to Ohio, where he met the love of his life Lynda.
He was a Vietnam veteran in the Army and later the National Guard. He worked at Ford Motor, Griffith Blacktop and Paving, RA Joseph Construction. He was a member of the Laborers Union Local 758.
He loved fishing, gardening, barbecuing, spending time with family and friends, and sharing knowledge that he learned throughout his life. Every morning, he started his day with prayer and scripture. He trusted God all the way.
After his early retirement, he enjoyed traveling and dancing with his wife until she departed July 27, 2015.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Apryl Crook (Edmond McCall), Trellas Bennett (Donnie), and Pamm Crook (Michael Johnson); grandchildren, Lewis (Crook) Guinn (Charles), Shaquinn Bennett, Savanna Jackson (Ryan), Kwan Davis (Ivon), Leonis Board Jr, Trellas Hall, and Maleya Johnson; eight great grandchildren; his sister, Carolyn (Crook) Benson (Clipper), and aunt, Kathryn Tolen of St Louis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda (Donnell) Crook, his parents, two brothers, three sisters, and several other cherished family members.
A memorial service will be held Friday, December 26, 2025, at 12 PM at the Brown-Robinson Funeral Home and Celebration Center, 6075 Middle Ridge Rd., Lorain OH 44053.
