Cora L Anderson

Cora L. Anderson (Wild/Thomas) went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2025. Cora was born in Hartsville, SC on March 5, 1936. She resided in Lorain for many years. She attended Hartsville High School in South Carolina. Cora worked for the Lorain City School district, retiring after 27 years of service in the custodial department. She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Lorain, OH where she served on the missionary board. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Chapter #6. She enjoyed visiting various churches throughout the area, working in the kitchen at the church she attended, and spending time with her family and friends.

Cora leaves to cherish her memory, her grandchildren, Shawn Algood, Anita Algood of Atlanta, GA., Dessie Cheers, Lance Cheers, Kevin (Marla) Davis, all of Lorain, OH., and Asrield Wright of Las Vegas, NV.; a brother, Billy (Patricia) Terry of Hartsville, SC.; sisters, Rose (Michael) Hayesworth, and Edna Terry, both of Hartsville, SC., and Cherlene Ross of Darlington, SC.; she also leaves to cherish her memory a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Cora was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie L. Anderson; a son, Calvin L. Douglas; parents, Harry Thomas and Mamie Wild; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Edna Wild; two aunts; four uncles; and a grandson, Wambi Davis.

Visitation will be held Sat., June 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home & Celebration Center, 6075 Middle Ridge Road, Lorain, OH 44053. Reverend John R. Jackson, Jr., pastor of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of Lorain, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
