Damon Maurice Tillman

Damon Maurice Tillman, age 63, formerly of Elyria, Ohio and most recently of Hephzibah, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on October 28, 2025, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, GA.

Born in Elyria, Ohio, Damon was the son of the late Hosea Partlow Sr. and Ella Louise Tillman. He graduated from Elyria High School in 1980, where he was a standout athlete in football, wrestling, and track and field.

Following high school, Damon proudly served in both the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps, including combat duty during Operation Desert Storm. His commitment to service reflected his strength, discipline, and deep sense of duty.

Damon was a man of many passions. He enjoyed watching movies, was a dedicated firearm enthusiast who took pride in collecting and maintaining his firearms, and was known as a grill master who loved preparing barbecue for family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Damesha (Kirby Winn) Tillman Winn; granddaughters, Kai and Harmony; siblings, Vada Smith of Elyria, Catherine Tillman and Debra (Sue) Tillman of Lorain, and Kevin Tillman of Cleveland, Ohio; his former wife and lifelong companion, Jacqueline Newton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hosea Partlow Sr. and Ella Louise Tillman, and his brother, Eric Tillman.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home and Celebration Center, 6075 Middle Ridge Rd., Lorain, OH 44053. Full military honors will be rendered at the interment in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria, Ohio.
