Danny Eugene Scott

Danny Eugene Scott, 70, of Elyria, Ohio, passed away following a brief illness on July 20, 2026, at Mercy New Life Hospice, surrounded by his loving family.

Danny was born on September 2, 1954, in Elyria, to the late James Scott Jr. and Dela Mae Scott (née Atkins).

Danny graduated from Admiral King High School in Lorain, Ohio, with the Class of 1972. He later retired as a truck driver. Danny served faithfully as a Deacon for Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Elyria and for the Original Church of God in Elyria.

Danny enjoyed music, shooting pool, bowling, and was also skilled as a mechanic.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 36 years, Margaret C. Scott (née Cannon); his son, Jaemi Scott; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Lincoln Phyllis Scott (Fairborn, Georgia); three sisters, Sharon, Toni, and Amerson (College Park, Georgia); Barbara Car (Dallas, Georgia); and Patricia Scott (Elyria, Ohio), along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Dela Scott; his brother James Scott Jr.; his sisters Janet Barnes, and Eddie Lee.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM, at the Original Church of God, 512 Edward Ave, Elyria, Ohio 44035. The interment will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria, Ohio.
