Darlene K. Grandison

Darlene K. Grandison, 69, of Lorain, passed away Friday, March 18, 2022 at Mercy Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born January 25, 1953 in Lorain where she was a life-long resident. Darlene graduated from Clearview High School and also attended Ohio Business College. She retired from First Student Transportation. She was previously employed at U.S. Steel for many years. Darlene was a member of Cathedral of Praise Worship & Family Center in Lorain where she served as a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir, and was part of the vacation bible school during the summer. She was also part of the custodial ministry of the church. Darlene enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, working in her yard, shopping, teaching the word of God, and spending time with her grandchildren. Darlene is survived by her husband of 36 years, Ronald K. Grandison, Sr.; her four sons, Stacey Charlton, Clifton (Gegia) Kilgore, Brian Kilgore, and Ronald Grandison, Jr.; one daughter, Kellie Grandison; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; her sisters, Shelia Charlton and Roslyn Charlton; her brothers, Min. Elvis (Katie) Charlton, Leo Bruce Charlton, John Les Charlton, Randy (Delores) Charlton and Micah (Kanosha) Charlton, and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Darlene was preceded in death by her father Thomas Jefferson Charlton and mother Fannie Mae Charlton; an infant son, Anthony L. Kilgore; a sister, Brenda Owens, and brothers, Thomas K. Charlton, Timothy Charlton, and Perry Charlton. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 10am until time of services at 12pm at Cathedral of Praise Worship & Family Center, 4545 Elyria Ave, Lorain, with Bishop Melvin Brown, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Ohio. Social distancing and wearing a mask are required.
