Darryl Johnson

Darryl Johnson, 65, of Lorain, passed away January 21, 2022. He was born June 13, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Lorain in 1974. Darryl retired from General Motors after 25 years of service. He enjoyed watching television shows about animals in nature, he liked playing basketball, and spending time with his grandchildren. Darryl is survived by his daughter, Tina M. Johnson, and son, Darryl Johnson II; five grandchildren who are the children of Darryl II: Darryl Johnson III, Alivia Johnson , Lauryn Johnson, Daryn Johnson, and Drayce Johnson; two sisters, Dorothy Gary of Chicago, Illinois and Brenda (Bobby Ray) Johnson of Pennington, Alabama; eight brothers, Leroy Hunter (Kathy) of Lorain, Charles Hunter of Chicago, Illinois, Peter (LuLu) Johnson of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Carey (Joyce) Johnson of Pennington, Alabama, Stoney Thompson (Lisa), Stan (Lorraine) Johnson of York, Alabama, Tony (Tasha) Johnson of Boligee, Alabama, and Anthony Johnson of Springfield, Massachusetts and a host of nieces nephews and other loving relatives. Darryl was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and MaLinda Johnson; three sisters, Lizzie Garrett, Diane Overton, and Jackie Johnson; a brother, Michael Thompson (Phyllis); a special aunt, Fannie Mae Thompson, and a special cousin, Laura Gayle. A walk-through viewing will be held Friday, February 4, 2022, from 10AM until time of service at 11AM at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park. Social distancing and wearing a mask are required.
