Deborah “Debbie” Lynn Lash was born June 28, 1963, to the late Elma (Crayton) Lash and James Lash in Sandusky, Ohio. Debbie attended Sandusky High School, where she was active in band and played the clarinet, graduating in1981. Also, Debbie’s love for fashion came from being an intern for her parents’ clothing store, Progressive Men’s Clothing. Debbie then served in the Navy from 1982 to 1990. There, she served in the military's Administrative Services in Washington, DC area. Debbie returned to Sandusky and began working at Ford Motor Company in Avon Lake, Ohio, retiring in 2005. Debbie peacefully left us on Sunday, January 25, 2026.
Debbie was a member of the East Parish Church of Christ, where she was baptized in 1976. She loved fashion (her favorite colors were pink and white), music, laughter, and travel. Debbie took pride in helping family.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, James and Elma (Crayton) Lash; her granddaughter, Azariah Lash; her maternal grandparents, Nathan and Earnestine (Crayton) Jones; paternal grandparents, Rev. Eddie J. and Louberta Brown; sister, Celeste Hathorn; niece, Tiffany Hathorn; aunts, Carrie Short, Jessie Carter, and Theresa Taylor; uncles, Dave Lash, Mervin Crayton, Dennis Jones, and James Jones (Curt).
Left to cherish her wonderful memories are her daughter, Jasmine Nicole Lash, and grandson, Jasiah Lash of Sandusky, Ohio; her great niece, Marliyah Miller, and a great nephew, Martonias Miller of Sandusky, Ohio, whom she helped raise; brothers, Dwayne Lash of Sandusky, Ohio, and Dean (Tara) Seavers of Washington D.C, and sister, Stevie Ann Hathorn of Columbus, Ohio; aunts, Bernestine (Daniel) Pettigrew of Willard, Ohio, and Christine Crayton of Sandusky, Ohio; uncles, Alvin Jones of Lorain, Ohio, and Calvin Jones of Sandusky, Ohio, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Debbie’s kindness, humor, unforgettable laugh, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and forever be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation with the family will be on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 11 AM until the time of service at 12 PM at East Parish Church of Christ, 1219 E Parish St, Sandusky OH.
