Diane Stanford

Diane Stanford, 69, of Elyria, passed away August 6, 2023 following a follow a lengthy illness in EMH Regional Medical Center. She was born June 29, 1954 in Lorain, Ohio and was a lifelong resident of Lorain County. 

Diane was a former member of New Home Baptist Church and Living word Church, both of Lorain. She was known for her gift of singing. She also enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, spending time with her grandchildren and other family. Additionally, she was known for her sweet potato pies.

Diane leaves to cherish her memory two sons, James Woods and Thomas Smalley, and one daughter, Alicia Smalley; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; two brothers, James Woods and Thomas Woods; two sisters, Ethel Jones and Mary Washington and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Daine was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jimmy Stanford; her parents, Anderson Sr. and Mary Woods and her adoptive parents, Floyd Rowe and Evangelist Naomi Rowe; one brother, Anderson Woods Jr., and two sisters, Willa Jones and Katie Woods.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 14, 2023 from 11am until time of services at 12pm at Living Word Church, 2002 E. 28th St., Lorain.
