Elliott Dewayne "Lump" Lumpkin

Elliott Dewayne Lumpkin (Lump), 81, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away July 15th, 2026. He was born in Birdeye, Arkansas to DeWitt and Catherine Lumpkin.

Elliott was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army in 1971, serving as a cook.

Elliott just celebrated his 55th Wedding Anniversary to his lovely wife, Georgia Lumpkin. He was a hardworking husband and father and a great grandfather. He worked at CEI in Avon Lake as a Maintenance Planner before retirement. Elliott continued working at a nursing home before finally retiring in maintenance.

Elliott loved to cook, yard work, and was a handyman throughout his home or for anyone who called on him. He was an avid bowler in bowling leagues. He loved his sports and the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians were his favorite teams.

Elliott truly loved his music and dancing, and it brought joy to see him dance. His love for his family was unconditional.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Georgia Lumpkin (See) of Lorain; his sons Brian See of Lorain, Thomas Lumpkin of Lorain, Kyle Hill (Sharon) of Oberlin, and daughter Shondra Fryson (Lumpkin) of Lorain; his brother Aaron (Gracie) Lumpkin, and sisters Diane (Wesley) Harris, Deborah (Charles) Robbins, Sherry (Eddie) McGhee, and Brenda Dean; 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other family.

Elliott was preceded in death by his father, Dewitt Lumpkin, and mother, Catherine Lumpkin; his brother Mark Griffith and grandson Marquise Weatherington.

Visitation will be on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 12:00 PM until time of service at 1:00 PM at Greater St. Matthew A.M.E. Church, 1909 West 24th Street, Lorain, Ohio.
