Fred Lanier Jr

Fred Lanier, Jr., 56, was born May 22, 1968, to Fred Lanier, Sr and Barbara Mongean Lanier in Meridian Mississippi. He passed away Friday, June 14, 2024, at the Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio.

He moved to Ohio at a young age, where he worked as a culinary chef around the city of Sandusky. He loved sports, cooking, and being around family and friends. 

Fred leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Rachel Meilstrup Lanier, 6 children, Terrence, Latoya, Ireland, Prince, Pressleigh Lanier, and Aspyn Bray, and 8 grandchildren, all of Sandusky; 4 sisters, Cynthia Hunter Ross of Lorain, Ohio, Margarita Miller of Youngstown, Ohio, Linda Lanier and Sherri Lanier, both of Sandusky, Ohio; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. He also leaves in remembrance a very close and dear friend, Leon Hughes, of Sandusky. 

Fred was preceded in death by a daughter, Storm Lanier; his father and mother; a sister, Mary Johnson; and his paternal and maternal grandparents. 

He never met a stranger. He will always be remembered by his cheerful smile.
