Irene Willis Henderson

Irene Willis Henderson, 74, of Lorain, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was born March 15, 1948 in Beulah, Mississippi and moved to Lorain at a young age. She was a member of New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was also a former member of the Tones of Joy gospel singing group. She retired from Lorain County Human Services where she worked for 20 years. She also worked as a receptionist for the Lakeview Plaza. She enjoyed singing, family and going to church. Irene is survived by her three brothers, Perry Willis Jr, Andrew Willis Harris and Kevin Willis Harris; her three sisters, Correne Willis Brooks, Darlene Willis and JoAnn Willis Green; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Perry Willis, Sr. and mother, Willie Willis (nee Turner); three brothers, Robert Lee Willis, Percy Gene Willis and John Lee Willis; two sisters, Pearlene Willis Riggins and Virginia Willis. A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, 3880 Dayton Ave, Lorain. Social distancing and mask wearing are required.
