With love and gratitude for her life, we announce the passing of Jacqueline Fay Goodwin, affectionately called Jackie, 64, of Lorain, Ohio. She departed this life on Monday, February 9, 2026 following a lengthy battle with dementia.
Jackie was a woman of quiet strength, gentle presence, and a bright smile that could light a room. Though naturally reserved, she carried a warmth that made others feel welcomed and seen. She loved attending church, reading, listening to music, and spending time with and caring for loved ones which was a reflection of her nurturing spirit.
She was a hardworking woman with a love of learning and a passion for helping and teaching others. A lifelong student and educator, she devoted many years to nurturing children and supporting families through her work with Lorain County Head Start and Lorain City Schools. Beyond education, she was a woman of determination and versatility; from owning her own tax business, to serving as a union organizer, and working in administration at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital. Her work ethic and commitment to community left a lasting mark.
She found joy in her love of God, always taking an active role in her church community as a committed member of New Hope Baptist Church. During seasons of difficulty, she remained someone whose faith could not be extinguished.
Above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother who leaves to cherish her memory her two beloved children, Javar and Jalisa Goodwin, both of Lorain, her siblings Kathryn Carson of Columbus, Ohio, Grover Goodwin Jr., and Delibra (Dimitrius) Lovett, both of Lorain, special daughters Kody Mosby of Lebanon, Tennessee, Briana Taylor and Naji (Micheal) McCall of Elyria, Melanie Noble and Aleicia Beard, both of Lorain, special son Jeremy Taylor of Cleveland, 27 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and all who were touched by her gentle smile and loving spirit.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 11 AM until the time of service at 12 noon at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home and Celebration Center, 6075 Middle Ridge Rd., Lorain, OH 44053.
