James Earl Williams

James Earl Williams, 76, of Elyria, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in Avon Cleveland Clinic following a lengthy illness.

James was born June 28, 1947 in Demopolis, Alabama and had lived in Elyria, Ohio most of his life. After graduating from high school James served in the United States Army. He was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Elyria. 

James enjoyed motorcycles and was an avid Cleveland sports fan.

James is survived by his two brothers, Dennis (Dorothy) Martin and Haymie (Jenny) Glass Jr.; three sisters, Brenda (David) Anderson, Marsha (Gene) Madison, and Chate (Bill) Ayers; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Haymie Glass Jr. and Anna Mae Glass (née Williams), two brothers Willie Martin, and Larry Earl Robinson; and two sisters, Barbara Jean Martin and JoAnn Nicholson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 11AM until the time of service at 12PM at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 632 W River Rd N, Elyria, Ohio. where the pastor, Rev. Calvin Curry, will officiate. The burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery
