With heavy hearts and loving memories, we honor Kandace Roseanne Higginbotham-Ivey, affectionately known as “Coolie,” who departed this life on October 28, 2026.
Born and raised in Lorain, Ohio, Kandace was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, homemaker, and friend. Known for her breathtaking beauty, genuine heart, radiant smile, and unforgettable spirit, she touched countless lives with her warmth, laughter, and love. Her beautiful presence will forever be treasured by all who knew her.
Kandace found joy in life’s simple pleasures, like playing cards with loved ones, listening to Stevie Wonder, David Ruffin, and Tupac Shakur. She loved jewelry, expressing herself through her distinctive style, tending to her beautiful plants, and spending time with her beloved Cane Corso, Champagne. Her home was filled with photographs, keepsakes, and treasured memories of those she loved. Her faith was dear to her heart, and she enjoyed reading her word and worshiping her lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
If one word describes Kandace, it is SOLDIER. Through life’s greatest hardships, she persevered with remarkable strength and determination. She taught her family to keep going, keep fighting, and always find a way. Her resilience will forever live on through the generations she leaves behind.
