Larry Darnell Gage, 76, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, September 02, 2026. He was born on Monday, August 07, 1950, to parents Willa Mae and Eddie Gage Sr.
Larry, as he was known, was a lifelong resident of Lorain, Ohio and graduated from Admiral King High School. He was employed and a retiree from Lorain Ford Motor Company with 20 years of service.
Larry, a dedicated father, loved to spoil his family and friends with his home cooked meals that would definitely include dessert. He enjoyed playing the lottery, dabbing cards and visiting a casino in anticipation for the big win! When you would find him relaxing, he may be found fishing, watching Sanford and Son, The Parkers, or a good ole Sunday football game, cheering on the Browns. He would be calling and visiting his loved ones reminiscing and creating stories that would surely leave a lasting impression.
Larry will be dearly missed and always remembered by children Linda Annette Shelton, Aaron Lamar Gage, Aarion Mijoi Gage, Dominic Taylor and Cicely Shelton; Siblings Vivian Phillips, Annette Echols, and Wayne Gage; sister-in-law Gloria Gage; he was blessed with grandchildren Zyaire Bates, Anthony Jordan, Messiah Jordan, Zylaya Glover, Darnella Gage and Aaron Gage Jr.; former wives Lynn Mc Lin, Francine Gage and Brenda Gage; mother of two children Veronica Anderson; he is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Willa Mae and Eddie Gage Sr.; former wife Gloria Moore-Gage and son Larry Darnell Gage Jr.; brothers Eddie Jr., George, David and baby boy Gage; sisters Jaqueline Gage and Jeanette Payne.
Visitation will be held Saturday September 12, 2026, form 10:00AM until time of services at 11:00AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1516 East 30th Street, Lorain Ohio 44055, where Pastor Shirley Howard is officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
