Lora Ann Jones entered this world on December 18, 1964, in Elyria, Ohio, and peacefully transitioned on December 1, 2025, in Cleveland. A devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Lora lived a life rooted in love, service, and community.
She is deeply cherished by her children, ShaLamar Helm, Tanisha Lovett-Helm, Brittany Lovett, LaTara Helm, and Everson Ryan Jones; her husband, Gregory Jones; her father, Willie Cabbil Sr.; and her brother, Willie Cabbil Jr. She is also embraced in memory by a host of family and loved ones who were blessed by her presence. Lora is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lee Cabbil, and brother/cousin, Robert Anthony “Petey” Cabbil.
Lora was a proud graduate of Elyria Catholic High School. She continued her education at the University of Cincinnati, where she built the foundation for a career defined by dedication, professionalism, and care. Over the years, she served as a paralegal, a real estate agent, and spent 26 years at Moen in a variety of roles—always leading with integrity and a strong work ethic.
Outside of work, Lora found joy in gardening and cooking, especially when sharing meals with the people she loved. She was a lifelong member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and a member of Sidonia Chapter #69 Order of the Eastern Star-Elyria, exemplifying sisterhood, service, and community leadership in all she did.
Above all, Lora was a nurturer. She mothered not only her children, but also countless neighbors, friends, and community members who found comfort, wisdom, and encouragement in her presence. Her home and her heart were open to all.
A celebration of Lora’s life will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, with visitation from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home and Celebration Center, 6075 Middle Ridge Rd, Lorain OH 44053. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
In honor of her love for nurturing and growth, houseplants are welcomed as gifts to the family.
Lora’s legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on in every life she touched.
