Lora Jean McDowell

Lora Jean McDowell, 74, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away October 15, 2026, at her home following a lengthy illness.

Lora was born December 27, 1951, in Lorain, Ohio, where she remained a lifelong resident. She graduated from Admiral King High School and attended Greater St. Matthew AME Church in Lorain. Lora retired from the Ford Motor Company plant in Avon Lake after 46 years of dedicated service. She was also a proud member of UAW Local 2000.

Lora enjoyed shopping, spending time with her family, and visiting with friends at the local McDonald’s. She treasured the time she shared with those closest to her, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Lora leaves to cherish her memory her two children, son Cheyenne Yarber and daughter Indio Yarber; six grandchildren, Paul, McDowell, Anya, Gregory, Iliana, and Aeonna; a sister, Inez McDowell, and other loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul McDowell Sr. and Betty McDowell, née Wright; and her siblings, Michael McDowell, Sylvia McDowell, James McDowell, Samuel McDowell, and Paul McDowell Jr.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home & Celebration Center, 6075 Middle Ridge Road, Lorain Ohio 44053. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain, Ohio.
