Louis Dennis Francis Jr, age 49, joined the heavenly angels on Sunday, May 18th, and now rests peacefully beside a fishing hole in God's arms. Known affectionately as "Dennis the Menace," he was born in Elyria, Ohio, to the late Louis Dennis Francis Sr. and the late Carolyn E. Francis (née Arnold).
Louis attended Cascade Elementary, Northwood Junior High School, and Elyria High School. As a child, Louis was a boy scout and played little league baseball for six years. He spent 30 years working as a journeyman in construction, roofing, and road construction. He particularly loved working hard and getting dirty while doing it.
Louis was known to be a quiet man with a great heart and an eye-raising sense of humor. However, when you get him to talk, he may not stop. He was also known for his blunt, brutal honesty, candid humor, and endearing yet impish smile. Louis was always willing to help and rarely delighted in saying "No". Spring was the beginning of his three favorite seasons because he could work hard and play even harder, doing the activities that he loved the most. Louis enjoyed fishing, camping, baseball, swimming, and barbequing. He was well-known to be quite the chef.
Leaving to treasure his memory and carry forward his legacy are his three children, Louis Francis of Lorain, Jasmine Davis of Mason, and Egypt Francis of Las Vegas, Nevada. Despite their distance, all three were sources of his joy and pride for him. He is also remembered by his siblings: Mark (Edwina) Arnold of Columbus, Regina Arnold and Louise Francis-Petrov of Lorain, and Terri Arnold of Elyria. Additionally, he is survived by several close and dear cousins (Tyrone, Matt, Nikki, Donald and favorite cousin Kellie), aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and a multitude of other family and close friends who will treasure his memory.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Carolyn E. Francis and Louis D. Francis Sr.; the recent passing of his brother, James Arnold Sr.; his paternal grandparents Sallie and Lewis Francis; as well as his maternal grandparents, Virginia and Grady Arnold Sr.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 30th, 2025, at the Brown-Robinson Funeral Home & Celebration Center, located at 6075 Middle Ridge Road, Lorain, Ohio, 44053. The viewing will begin at 11:00 AM, with services starting at 12:00 PM followed by a repast.
