It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynnette Phillips aka “Red” our beloved mother, NaNa, daughter, sister, niece, cousins, and friend. She passed away peacefully at the age of 49 on April 5th, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Lynnette was born on December 26th, 1975 in Luverne, Alabama to Michael Harris and Lynne Phillips. Lynnette was a long-time resident of Lorain and Columbus, Ohio.
She graduated from Admiral King High School, Class of 1994. She was a loving, caring, dedicated individual who devoted over 25 years to the medical profession. Lynnette recently graduated at the top of her class, obtaining her Registered Nursing degree from Felbry College of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio.
Red had great joy spending time with family and friends, planning family functions, shopping, cleaning, and decorating. She had recently dedicated her life to Christ becoming a member of St. Paul A. M. E. Church in Cleveland, Ohio.
Lynnette will be sadly missed and cherished by her children Malcolm, AdreOnna (John), and Darin Jr.; Her siblings Chicquita Harris, Motiscia (Tia) Harris, Michael A. Harris Jr., Markcus Harris, and Michael T. Harris. Also mourning her loss are her stepmother, Lisa Harris; stepsister Jalisa Charlston; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Lynnette was preceded in death by her father Michael Harris Sr., children Darin Lurry, and Deshay Lurry; paternal grandparents Arthur Harris and Annie Harris; maternal grandparent Phorfina Lucille Moore.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at 11:00am at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 6075 Middle Ridge Road, Lorain, Ohio and where Rev. Gregory S. Thomas will officiate.
