Marlena Taylor "Bena"

Marlena Taylor, "Bena", 41, of Lorain, died unexpectedly February 2, 2022. She was a lifelong resident of Lorain; where she worked in the restaurant industry and was the epitome of service with a smile. She will be remembered for her beautiful bubbly personality and infectious smile; they will be truly missed. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, making everyone laugh, or giving everyone their own unique nicknames. She also enjoyed playing cards and could be often heard shouting "Nena Bena" when she had a good hand. She also enjoyed watching Lifetime, the ID channel, and the cooking channel; she would often try new creations that she saw on that show. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Diamond Marlena Tirado; her mother, Marsetta (Ronald) Charlton; her father, Jeffrey Moore; grandmother, Carrie Moore; brothers, Maurice, Marques and Marvin Taylor, Arthur and Harold (Daniela) Perkins, Andre Cheers, Ronnie Rivera, Christopher (Wakisha) Smith, and Antuan Lane; sisters, Marla (Kevin) Davis, Cyntia and Lakeisha Moore; best friends, Melissa (Rick) Driver, Christi and Jessica Nixon; special cousins, Yolanda and Sharon Hall, Donna Jackson, Julia and Rochelle Taylor, Tameka Cheers, Topeka and Cherry "Babbie" Charlton, Taleeyah Hairston, and Dorian Young; special aunt and uncle, Beverly Taylor-Greer, Robert (Melinda) Taylor; her Godmother Sheila Taylor Simmons; her godchildren, Kevin Davis II, Alena Rivera, Shaneah Nixon, Laivon Chapman, Ryckiah Driver, Ja'Myah Geiger, Mar'Khia Blakely, and Kamryn Davis; her twin Taleah Thomas-Doan, her doonah, Diamond Hairston, and her tonyhawk, Dawan Champion; along with a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her stepfather that raised her, Harold Perkins; her maternal grandparents, Robert and Beulah (nee Carlton) Taylor; her paternal grandfather, West Moore, Jr; Resna Cheers, who she considered a grandmother; a brother, Thomas Smith, and a nephew, Ca'Ron M. Seymore. Visitation will be Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 11 am until time of service at
12 noon at Living Word Church, 2002 E 28th St., Lorain. Social distancing and wearing a mask are required.
