Martha J. Williamson, nee Jefferson, 79, of Sandusky, transitioned from this life on Monday, May 2, 2022 in Edgewood Manor Rehab & Healthcare Center in Port Clinton, Ohio. She was born September 9, 1942 in Bassett, Virginia and had been a resident of Sandusky, Ohio for over 60 years. Martha retired from the former Providence Hospital where she worked as a nurse’s aide. Prior to working at the hospital, she had also worked at the Barr Rubber Company and various nursing homes in Sandusky. She was a member of The Assembly of Jesus Christ Church for over 50 years. She had served in various church offices including Sunday school, the young people department, the communion team, and sang in the choir. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, taking walks, exercising, and spending time with her grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Thomas (Diane) Williamson, Timothy Williamson, and Tony (Sarah) Williamson; two daughters, Dora Tapp and Kim Williamson; 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter; two sisters, Ethel (Thomas) Owen and Julia Barbour; a brother, John Jefferson, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Williamson; her father, Hiawatha Jefferson and her mother, Christine Estes Jefferson; two sisters, Elizabeth Manns and Loraine Rowe; a brother, Raymond Jefferson, and a great granddaughter in infancy. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 11 a.m. until time of service at 12 noon at The Assembly of Jesus Christ Church, 3510 Beatty Ave, Sandusky OH 44870. Pastor Johnnie Cross will officiate. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.
