Mary "Bit" Francis Beard

Mary “Bit” Francis Beard, 74 of Lorain, Ohio, passed away Monday, July 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, at Mercy Regional Medical Health Center.

Mary was born in Tennessee on September 19, 1951. The family later moved from Tennessee to Detroit, Michigan, where she lived for several years before relocating to Lorain, Ohio.

Mary graduated from Admiral King High School in Lorain with the Class of 1970. She attended Living Word Church in Lorain and was a member of the UAW. She retired from the Lorain Ford Motor Company.

Mary was known for her warm spirit and generosity. She enjoyed cooking, playing the lottery, helping others, and spending quality time with her family.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Rodric (Christina Ruffin) Beard, Demetrius T. Beard, and Damion L. Cheers; her 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; her brother, John Wesley Beard, and her sister-in-law, Martha Jane Beard; along with nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, John Beard and Francis Beard Hamilton (née Ballard); her sisters, Teresa Beard and Debbie Beard, and her brother, Willie Earl Beard.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home and Celebration Center, 6075 Middle Ridge Rd., Lorain, OH 44053. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst, Ohio.
