Michael Renny Linder, 68 of Lorain Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on June 3, 2026. Even in his passing, Michael’s legacy of generosity continued as an organ donor, saving the lives of three individuals through the gift of organ donation.
Michael was born on February 12, 1958, in Lorain, Ohio, to the late Preston Linder Jr. and Lurlene Linder. He attended Admiral King High School and spent his life as a dedicated worker. Throughout the years, he was employed by Ford Motor Company, Lorain Community Hospital, and in landscaping before concluding his career with National Materials.
Michael was a free-spirited man who loved life. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing street basketball and roller skating. He had a passion for music, shooting pool, and playing darts. He was well known for his barbecue skills and for riding his bicycle throughout the streets of Lorain with his music playing, bringing smiles and good vibes wherever he went.
Michael will be remembered for his carefree spirit, his love of family and friends, and his ability to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. He never met a stranger and had a way of making people laugh wherever he went. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Preston and Wilma Linder and Willie and Jesse Mae Davis; his parents, Preston Linder Jr. and Lurlene Linder; his beloved nephews, Justin Linder and Dale Linder Jr.; and a host of cherished aunts, uncles, relatives, and loved ones who preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory his stepmother, Donna Linder; his siblings, Penelope “Penny” (Paul Anthony) Richmond of Richmond, Virginia; Michelle Dorsey of the Washington, D.C. (DMV) area; Francine Linder-Townsend of Nanuet, New York; Dale Linder of Lorain, Ohio; April Linder of Akron, Ohio; and Celeste Linder of Akron, Ohio; his aunts, Jo Hannah Harold Jones, Mary Wilson, and Katie Williams Davis; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Those who knew Michael knew he could be a handful at times. He leaves behind three special friends who lovingly “tolerated him the most” Mike Mastin, Joe Chaney, and Sean Linder. Their friendship was filled with laughter, stories, loyalty, and a lifetime of unforgettable memories.
Michael’s life was a testament to resilience, joy, and generosity. Though he has departed this earthly life, his final act of kindness gave others a second chance at life. Through organ donation, three lives were saved, leaving a lasting legacy of hope, compassion, and selflessness that will continue for years to come.
“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” — 2 Corinthians 5:8
