Patricia Yancey Jones

Patricia Yancey Jones, age 73, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, at New Life Hospice following a brief illness.

Born on August 26, 1952, Patricia was a devoted member of Greater St. Matthew AME Church. She found joy in gardening, sewing, and caring for her beloved dogs, Lucy and Cisco. Her nurturing spirit and quiet strength touched the lives of all who knew her.

Patricia is survived by her son, Bekele Jones; grandchildren Vanessa Jones, Alex Gomez Jones, Brittany Jones, and Melissa Gomez; her brother, Timothy Howard; sister, Brenda Lewis; and a cherished niece and nephew, Egypt and Malcolm Howard. She also leaves behind a host of other loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Jones; her parents, Robert Yancey and Leslie Howard Taylor; and her brothers, Robert Yancey and Stanley Yancey.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m. at Greater St. Matthew AME Church, 1909 W. 24th Street, Lorain, OH 44052. Pastor D’Lynn Harrison will officiate as family and friends gather to celebrate Patricia’s life and legacy.
