Raymond Bowens

Raymond Bowens, 68, of Elyria, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025, at Phoenix of Maple Heights. He was born on October 13, 1956, in Elyria, Ohio, where he remained a lifelong resident.

Raymond attended Elyria City Schools and was a proud graduate of Elyria High School. He later became a dedicated employee of the Ford Motor Company.

Raymond was known for his quiet strength, his love for his family, and his deep roots in the Elyria community. Having been raised in a close-knit family, he carried those values throughout his life. He cherished time spent with his loved ones and leaves behind a legacy of resilience, hard work, and devotion.

He is survived by his two sons, Andrei Bowens and Shawn Bowens, who were the pride and joy of his life. He also leaves to mourn a host of family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Raymond was preceded in death by his siblings Velma Ree Thorpe, James Bowens Jr, and Genevieve Bowens Todd, parents James and Velma Bowens, and those family members who welcomed him into eternal rest.

His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Private services will be held by the family.
