Rosa "Rose" M Kimbrough

Rosa “Rose” M. Kimbrough, of Lorain, was born on Sunday, March 31, 1935, in Mt. Vernon Alabama. She was the daughter of Johnny and Julia Larsosa, and the sister of Cleo Sr., Leola, Johnny, Deloris, Harry Sr. and Lawrence Sr.

Rose married James Kimbrough in 1953, and out of that union came Sharon, James (Pete), Eddie and Debbie. They moved to Lorain, Ohio very early in their marriage and raised their family. Rose was employed at St. Joseph and then Community Hospital for several years until her retirement in 1997.

She loved her family and friends with all her heart! There was nothing she would not do for any one of them to help make their lives better. She always had a shoulder to lean on, and provided support and comfort whenever it was needed. She was kind but firm and gentle but so very strong. She loved unconditionally and never gave up on anyone whatever the circumstances. She was resilient in facing challenges and was a true role model for all. She will be missed!

She accepted Christ into her heart at an early age and was a member of Community Baptist Church. Prior to becoming ill, she served faithfully over many years as head of the Flower Fund, as a member of the Kitchen Ministry and as a member of the Mothers Board.

Rose was an avid gardener, and truly had a green thumb. She nursed many unhealthy plants back to full health. She was also an excellent cook! She was known far and wide for several of her dishes, particularly her dressing and pound cake recipes.

Rosa’s life journey ended on Saturday, November 9, 2024. She is no longer suffering but is now resting comfortably in the care of her Heavenly Father.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Julia Larsosa; children, Sharon Sanford and Eddie Kimbrough; brothers, Cleo Larsosa Sr. and Harry Larsosa Sr.; and sisters, Leola Crawford and Deloris Stewart.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, James (Cheryl) Kimbrough and Debbie (Melvin) Jones; brothers, Johnny (Merial) Larsosa and Lawrence (Lisa) Larsosa Sr.; grandchildren, Larry, Jeremy (Desirae), James, Aida (Steve), James, Jazmin, Mariah, Stephanie and Derek; great-grandchildren, Jai’len, Akierra, Trey, Sevyn, Willis, J’waun, DeMarco, Raéanna, Kiera, Marlon, Tyuan, Quayla, Antwan, Achilles, Aalyiah, Azjah, Damani, Rey’niya, Ariya and Brooklyn; great-great grandchildren, Carmelo, Amilah, Ahmir, Laéoni, Anarah, Miliani, Jade-Lanie, Marlon Jr., Layna and Dream; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and best friend, Beulah Dublin.
