Listen to Obituary

Sherri Doreen Ross, 67, entered eternal rest on April 19, 2026. While our hearts are heavy with her passing, we choose to celebrate a life filled with love, strength, and lasting impact.

Sherri was a woman whose presence could light up a room. She was more than a mother, sister, and friend—she was someone who showed up for others, loved deeply, and made people feel seen, heard, and cared for. Whether through her words, her laughter, or simply her presence, she brought comfort and warmth to those around her.

While Elyria was always what she called home, Sherri spent a significant part of her life in Columbus, Ohio, where she continued to grow, serve, and impact the lives of those around her.

She graduated from Elyria West High School and went on to attend The Ohio State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in special education with a minor in social work. Her education reflected her heart—she was deeply committed to helping others and making a difference.

She was known for her strong spirit, sense of humor, kindness, and honesty. Sherri had a deep love for poetry, music, family time, and her faith. She found joy in helping others and dedicated much of her time to serving those in need—especially individuals with special needs—offering her compassion, patience, and unwavering support. She didn’t just go through life—she lived it in a way that left lasting memories with everyone she encountered.

Above all, Sherri was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. The love she gave, the lessons she taught, and the sacrifices she made will continue to guide her family each day. Her love is a legacy that will never fade.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Devon; her beloved grandchildren, Audryanna and Amari; her brothers, Skip and Aaron; and her sisters, Kim and Vylinn; along with countless extended family members and friends whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dudley; her mother, Jewell; her sister, Faye; her brother, Michael; and her aunt, Corrine.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home & Celebration Center, 6075 Middle Ridge Road, Lorain, Ohio 44053. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor her life.

Though she is no longer with us physically, Sherri’s spirit lives on in every memory, every lesson, and every bit of love she gave so freely.
