Stephanie J. Bangura, a beloved and devoted servant of God, went from labor to reward on April 19, 2025. She passed away peacefully at the age of 80 at her home in Norwalk, Ohio.
Stephanie was born in Goodwill, West Virginia on August 23, 1944, to William Warner Sr. and Dorothy (Mock) Warner.
As Stephanie transitioned through life, she graduated from Park Central High School, and furthered her education earning a bachelor's degree in nursing at Stoney Brook College in New York. She retired as a nurse from Northshore University Hospital, Manhasset, NY and from Health Insurance Plan as the Corporate Billing Supervisor.
Stephanie married the late Lemuel S. Young and to that union Michael, Paul, and Michelle were born. Much later in life she found love again and married the late David Bangura.
Stephanie was a beacon of love, faith, and compassion throughout her life. Her journey was marked by a deep-rooted belief in Christianity, which guided her through a life filled with achievements and love. Her journey of faith leads her to be ordained into the ministry by the late Thomas Moore.
After retiring she relocated to Norwalk to lovingly care for her mother, Dorothy Warner. While in Norwalk she founded and Pastored Latter Rain Deliverance Ministries. She also found joy attending services and preaching at New Wineskin Ministries in Norwalk, under the leadership of Pastor Sarah Williamson.
She loved her family and Stephanie leaves to celebrate her life and cherish memories, sons, Michael, and Paul , daughter Michelle, all of Norwalk, 3 brother’s: Robert “Bobby” Warner (Janice) of Lorain, Ronald “Ronnie” Mock of Norwalk, and James “Jimmy” Buckhannon (Linda) of Huntington, West Virginia; 3 sisters: Charlene “Penny” Buckhannon of Springfield, Massachusetts, and Valerie Smith and Tammy (Terry) Dickerson of Lorain, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband David Bangura, her parents, her maternal grandparents, Charles Mock Sr. and Willie Mae Alexander, her brothers; William “Billy” Warner Jr., Gary Michael Warner, and John Buckhannon.
May her memory bring peace and strength to all who knew her.
Visitation will be from 1pm until time of service at 2pm on Thursday, May 1st, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce Street, Sandusky.
