Sylvia Jean Noble

Sylvia Jean Noble (née Reed), 80, of Elyria, Ohio, passed away after a lengthy illness on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Avon Oaks Nursing Home in Avon. She was born on October 2, 1945, in Elyria.

Sylvia graduated from Lorain High School in 1964. She met and married Richard Flowers, Sr.; to this union one son was born, Richard Flowers, Jr. She later met and married Kirdes Noble, Sr., they were married for 22 years. She worked for many years at Harvest House and later at Invacare, where she dedicated over 20 years of service. Sylvia was a fabulous cook who truly enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends. When she wasn’t in the kitchen, you could often find her tending to her garden. She was a devoted fan of Cleveland sports teams and the Ohio State Buckeyes football team. Above all, Sylvia cherished spending time with her family. She welcomed everyone she met with open arms, and once you met Sylvia, you knew you had a friend for life.

Sylvia is survived by her son, Richard Allen Flowers Jr. (Melinda); her grandchildren, Daniel B. Flowers, Myrasia T. Flowers, Richard A. Flowers III, and Miles G. Flowers; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Jeffery Gaines, her sisters Jennifer Scott (nee Gaines), Geraldine (Becky) Gaines and Sharri Wilson (nee Gaines). Niece whom she raised, Naja Logan; nephews she raised, Donte Logan (Meghan) and O’Shae Noble; stepdaughter Renee Noble stepsons Kirdes Noble Jr and Kevin V. Jackson (Patricia), along with an additional 16 grandchildren, 2 nieces and 3 nephews and many other beloved family members and friends

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kirdes Noble Sr.; her parents, Sydney Reed and Pauline Gaines (née Brown); her stepfather, Gerald Gaines Jr.; her sister Deborah Blair; her brother Calvin Blair; her nephew Andre Gaines; and her nephew whom she raised, Jermaine Noble.

Sylvia’s kindness, warmth, and love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday March, 21st, 2026 with viewing from 11:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home & Celebration Center, 6075 Middle Ridge Rd, Lorain OH 44035. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
