Troy M Jackson Sr

Troy Martel Jackson Sr., 57, was born on Tuesday, October 19, 1965 in Elyria, Ohio and was a lifelong resident of Lorain County. Troy graduated from Lorain Southview High School Class of 1985. While in high school, he played the trombone, and joined the alumni band. He also enjoyed wrestling and being a part of the drama club. Troy accepted Christ at an early age and found joy in singing and listening to gospel music. He was a member of the New Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Lorain, Ohio under the leadership of his son, Pastor Jalil Jackson Sr. Troy enjoyed working in the food service industry. He had a comical sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. Troy enjoyed fishing, watching basketball, football, and playing board games. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his six beautiful grandchildren: Chloe, Audrey, Annalyse, Kingston, Jalil Jr and Kaloni, along with his bonus grandchild: Noah. Troy will always be remembered as “Paw-Paw, who makes the best cocoa wheat and pancakes”. Troy peacefully transitioned from time on earth to life eternal with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday April 11, 2023 at Mercy Hospital following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rev. Robert and Bessie Jackson; his mother, Nettie Mae Jackson; aunts, Martha Barksdale, Lucille Daniels, Roberta Gross-Carter; uncle, Albert Jackson; brothers, Jackie Jackson, Jon Lyle Jackson and Kevin L. Jackson Sr.; sister, Joanne Jackson; niece; Patricia Jackson-Stone; nephews, Paul Jackson, Kelby Jackson, Lester White Jr, Jon Lyle Jackson Jr and cousin, Tony Jackson. Troy leaves a rich and fruitful heritage in his lovely wife of 32 years: Cassandra Agee-Jackson of Lorain; his two sons, Troy Jackson Jr. of Elyria and Jalil (Tamecia) Jackson Sr. of Lorain; six grandchildren: Chloe, Audrey, Annalyse, Kingston, Jalil Jr., and Kaloni Jackson; his sisters; Regina (Alex) Shockley of Elyria, Tammie Jackson of Lorain, and Deidra Jackson of Texas; his brothers, Robert (Jackie) Jackson of Toledo and Jamie (Paula) Jackson of Texas. He will be missed by a host of nieces and nephews, the New Mt. Calvary family, and a multitude of family and friends. A visitation will be held Friday, April 21, from 10AM until time of service at 11AM at New Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 2340 Crehore St., Lorain OH 44052. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
