Listen to Obituary

Yolanda Lucille Malone passed away unexpectedly on December 24th, 2025, at the age of 57. She will be remembered for the love, joy, and gentle spirit she shared with everyone around her. Though she is no longer with us, her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her. She has found eternal peace and is reunited with loved ones who passed before her.

Though she faced challenges throughout her life, Yolanda met them with grace and perseverance. She lived with cerebral palsy, yet this did not define her. Like the violet she represents, she was a quiet yet powerful force in the lives of all those who knew her.

Yolanda attended Murray Ridge School in Elyria and graduated in 1987. She then went on to work at the Murray Ridge Work Center in Lorain, where she devoted 39 years of her life. She loved her work and looked forward to it every single day, often ready for the bus well before it arrived.

Yolanda found joy in life’s simplest pleasures. She had a childlike joy for life that gravitated toward coloring, toys, and of course, her stuffed animals. She thoroughly enjoyed painting, creating art, and watching cartoons. She loved food and trying to find the sugar for her Rice Krispies, even though she was a diabetic, as well as loving to spend precious time with her mother, Barbara. These joys reflected her gentle spirit and brought light to those who loved her.

Yolanda’s heart was pure, and she carried an innocence that touched everyone around her. She could do no wrong and lived free from malice or fear. Those who knew her felt the peace and goodness she radiated, and her gentle presence left a lasting impression, inspiring her family for generations to come.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert L. Malone; her brother, Troy Malone; her paternal grandparents, Sam E. and Sylvia Malone (née Holloway); and her maternal grandparents, Howard C. Daggs Sr. and Lillie M. Daggs.

She is lovingly remembered by her mother, Barbara J. Malone; her brothers, Rennell M. Malone, R. Tracey Malone, Tremont L. Malone (Angela), Jason M. James, and William T. Malone (Cherish); her sister Musett E. Bennett (Anthony); as well as her nieces, nephews, and cousins.
