Zenobia Eloise McNeil, 75, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, following a brief illness.

Zenobia was born on February 8, 1951, in Lorain, Ohio, to the late Bobby and Juanita McNeil. She was the oldest of three siblings. She attended Lorain High School and, after graduating, continued her education at Lorain Community College, where she earned degrees and certificates.

Zenobia later relocated to California and enjoyed a successful career with AT&T, where she worked for more than 20 years before retiring. In 1992, she returned to the Lorain area, where she remained.

Known affectionately as “Zee” by her family and close friends, Zenobia had a true love for life. She loved God and her family deeply. Although she was known for being a strong and tough woman, she was also full of love and compassion.

Zenobia enjoyed having fun and living life fully, without regrets. One of the sayings she lived by was, “You’ll never know if you don’t try.” She enjoyed movies, books, traveling, and fine dining. She was also known for her impeccable taste in fashion and her fabulous personality.

Zenobia leaves to cherish her memory her children, Christopher A. McHenry (Angela) and Keisha McHenry (Vincent Warren); her brother, Robert (Joycelyn) M. McNeil; her husband, Johnnie Hutcherson; her grandchildren, Christian, Jazmine, Raquelle, Chauncie McHenry, Anthony and Ryan Jackson; one bonus grandson, Vincent Warren; ten great-grandchildren; her bonus sister, Selena Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Zenobia was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby and Juanita McNeil; her son, Robert A. Pla; and her brother, Jeffrey McNeil.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home & Celebration Center, 6075 Middle Ridge Road, Lorain OH 44053. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon, Ohio.
