Darrell D. Duffy Sr

Darrell “Big Darrell” Sr. was born on March 12th, 1963 to John Duffy Sr. and Marlene F (Calhoun) Duffy in Lorain, Ohio. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 9th, 2023. Darrell accepted Christ at an early age at Mt Zion Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Admiral King High School in 1981 where he played basketball and was inducted into the Lorain Sports Hall of Fame in 2019 for being on the 1979-1980 High School Basketball Team that went to the State Championship. Big Darrell served his country in the United States Army until 1987. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers and The Ohio State Buckeyes.


Darrell Sr. leaves to cherish his legacy, his two beautiful children Darrell Duffy Jr. (Cedirea) of Bonaire, GA and Demetra Duffy of McDonough, GA, his wonderful grandchildren Destini & Chance of McDonough, GA and Adriana of Bonaire, GA, Mother Marlene F (Calhoun) Duffy, brother John Duffy Sr. (Shavon), sister Lora Smith (James) of Columbus, OH, sisters Kristie Duffy & Candice Duffy, brothers Nathaniel Walker, Henry Walker Jr. and Duncan Walker of Lorain, OH and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who turned into family he always dotted on. In addition, he leaves behind his fur child Lucky.

 Darrell Sr. is preceded in death by father John Duffy Sr., dad Henry Walker Sr, sister Marla Duffy, maternal grandparents Willie & Roberta Calhoun, paternal grandparents John & Lora Duffy and nephew Jaleel “JJ” Woods.

 A Celebration of Life Service will be determined for a later date.
